Infant feeding

How much EBM or formula roughly would a 7mth baby drink from a bottle at each feed?

dd is 7mths and I've never given her a "whole" feed from a bottle.

Going to start leaving her a bit more with grannies/DH over the next few weeks in the run up to me going back to work, to get us both used to it! Previously I've always come back for feeds, so now (deep breath....ahhhh....try not to stress...) I am going to leave her with someone else for one feed. But I have no idea how much milk she might need?

She's not great at taking a bottle and I'm worried DH or whoever might give up after eg 2oz when she really needs more like 6!

Thanks!

At that age, ds was usually taking about 5-6 oz per feed, fwiw.
Good luck!

Mine would take 4-5 oz EBM at that age(never took more than 5, ever)

hi caz!

i'm going back on wednesday! ds will be 7 months on tuesday. i have done some trial sessions with cm and 1 day at a wedding when my mum had him.

he started only having 2oz in bottle but i think has 4ish now. i am going to send about 4oz of ebm and the rest of the day's milk will be formula. i have bought some ready made hipp organic exactly because of this, so cm can give him, say 4oz but can quickly pour in more if req.

i think he does 'hang on' a bit for me though, so always has a big feed when i pick him up. not left him for a whole day yet, nervous. am sooo terrified he will wean off breast onto bottle...am sticking to 1 hole teats.

good luck!

Oh good luck weasle!! i am thinking the same, small amounts of EBM with emergency cartons! Post how you get on?

i think dd "hangs on" too - just scared of being up even more in the night than we are at the moment - argh!

thanks all!
