I was just over in Parenting posting on what causes tantrums in my toddler, and this is what I described:
"Mine is also pre-verbal, and the only sign he knows is for milk. So, he woke up and did the milk sign fervently. I gave him some boob. When he'd been on boob the for fifteen minutes, cue tantrum because I had to get up and get into the shower to get ready for work.
Whilst in the shower I could hear a tantrum resulting from my mum trying to get him dressed.
Then he was pounding on the door saying "mama, mama", and she told me that he was making the milk sign when he wasn't pounding.
I open the door, and he has a tantrum because I won't pick him up. Then I pick him up and he tries to get my boob into his mouth by pulling and contorting himself until it's there. Then he has a tantrum because I try to sit down to get more comfortable.
This goes on until I get my damn shirt on. I am going to start keeping one on 24/7.
He's 15mo. Someone please tell me the boob-all-of-the-time phase will end soon.
Please?"
Some very helpful mum there suggested that I take the problem here. I work M-F, 9-5, so it may be his way to reconnect. Has anyone else dealt with this, and does it end soon, or is there anything I can do to ameliorate?
Thanks in advance.
