I have a 20 month son and am trying for another baby. I BF my ds until he was 4 months old and I wanted to continue but for some inexplicable reason he refused to take my breasts which was heartbreaking for me. I am really hoping when he sees me BF the new baby he will want to try it. Is that wrong of me? I just want that closeness with him again. I guess part of me doesnt want him to grow up I am not sure. Has anyone resumed BFing after stopping? Please dont have a go at me if you think this is weird or whatever!

I tried to see if my two year old DS would feed from me when I BF DS2 but he bit instead of sucked! I did give him some milk in a cup though which he spat out in disgust lol. In the end I spiked his cow's milk with it when he had a bad cold to give him a boost.

i am currently expecting dc#4. dd3 is extremely interested in breastfeeding despite giving up over a year ago. i think when the time comes i will express some off if she wants to try. i think after so long she wont have the ability to get any milk out of me.

I think when you have your new baby, you'll find that you get a different kind of closeness with your son. I'm tandem feeding DS and DD and although I thought I'd never want to stop feeding DS (2.9), I now really really do. He doesn't, so I'm not pushing it - he's finding life as a big brother tough enough.
