(5 Posts)My DS has just turned 8 weeks old and is starting to sleep longer. As a result of this he's Sometimes going 4-5 hours between feeds.
Is this ok? Should I leave him to sleep or should I wake him so he's not going so long between each feed?
daytime or nighttime? I wouldn't go more than 3-4 hours during the day. Night time I'd leave to sleep as long as weight gain was good
He seems to have longer naps during the day. I'm a FTM and have always been told to not wake a sleeping baby. So wasn't entirely sure.
You don't really want him to sleep more in the day than at night though. It's up to you really but I did sometimes wake mine if they had been asleep too long
When my daughter was under 3months, I didn’t let her go for more than 4 hours during the day without a feed, I would wake her if needed, at night I would let her sleep for as long as she wanted.
It was my midwife that said not to let her go for more than 4 hours during the day without feeding.
After 3 months it wasn’t an issue anymore as she doesn’t sleep anymore!
