Boobies are poorly

Yes I know it’s grim ‘boobies’ but is it really terrible to put plasters on your nipples and say they are poorly so there’s no more milk?
My toddler is 2yr 9mo.
I am done. Absolutely done with breastfeeding and he is obsessed. He loves feeding, he’s a struggle every dinner time (always been super fussy with food) and I still cosleep / feed to sleep sometimes as he is such a nightmare. He had milk then decided to get up & go back downstairs to his big bro & dad, then came back up & had a meltdown because I said he couldn’t have more milk as he had drank it all. Screaming & crying, he won’t be cuddled as just kicks off (terrible 2s) & now we are on lock down he wants it during the day too!
Is this a terrible idea? Any other suggestions? I don’t think cutting down gradually will work, I just need to stop tomorrow ideally as I am fed up Sad

Personally I wouldn't. What if he rips off the plasters and hurts your nipples?

Have you worked out how you are going to manage at night too if you just go cold turkey?

I know you've said you don't want to recur but have you thought of putting him in his own bed and doing some gentle night weaning?

@JiltedJohnsJulie I didn’t actually put plasters on in the end, today I’ve been saying that they are poorly & there’s no more milk left. He’s just gone to sleep without (albeit with a tiny bit of upset) but I just cuddled him and apologised and I’ve got a straw bottle of water by the bed. I’ve gave him two small cups of cows milk this morning / evening too.

I usually sleep in just pants so I’ve decided tonight I will wear my bra / nightie & just offer him water by the bed when he wakes. Hopefully it goes better than I’m expecting (bedtime did! It only took 10 mins!).

Everything I’ve read is re gentle weaning but I’ve tried don’t offer, don’t refuse & he always asks. Although I’ve not tried to night wean before but I have barely any milk during the day anyway, so I’d rather go cold turkey. It’s so hard though but this morning before he got up he had a feed and I was thinking that this would be really nice as the last one...

Going to try to get him in his own bed in a few months once we are passed this 🤞🏻
