Infant feeding

Worry about calorie intake now 4mo sleeping through the night

Hi - feel a bit ridiculous here as it was only a couple of months ago that I was posting asking for advice on my DS waking every 2 hours in the night, but 3 weeks ago he started sleeping through for about 8-10 hours (I'm well aware he'll have many phases where he wakes frequently in the future).
I just do not understand how he can be getting enough calories though! He's feeding the same amount during the day (he's breastfed), so how can he now go without feeding at night at all? He's a small baby (9th centile) so I'm always a little (a lot!!) anxious about his weight... Should I wake him to feed at 11pm-ish? I've tried it a few times but he is too sleepy and doesn't seem to eat much and then often doesn't sleep as soundly afterwards. He's gaining enough weight still to stay on his centile line, but I still stress about his calorie intake.
Any advice/knowledge on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

How is his behaviour? Is he alert in the daytime? Is he cheerful?

Could just be that his feeding is more efficient than it used to be and/or he is not currently having a growth spurt so less need to feed as regularly. If he is still gaining weight on his centile, my instinct would be it is fine.

If he's hungry in he might he will wake up. Don't worry. Your milk changes all the time to meet your baby's needs, you can't judge it on how long he feeds or how your breasts feel.
If he's alert as usual during the day just enjoy the sleep while you can.

You’re fine! He’d wake up if he was hungry/be a very unhappy baby in the day. They just get more efficient at eating that’s all!

He is very happy and alert during the day. I guess he must have upped his intake without me realising! Breast feeding is so confusing in that you just don't know how much they are taking at each feed... When I pump in between feeds for the occasional bottle feed I get about 120-200ml, but I'm never sure if that's a good indication of how much he gets when he feeds from me. He doesn't like the bottle much so drinks very slowly and often only about 90ml, so don't get a clear picture from that either.

Thanks for the advice!
