I don't think there is a previous thread about this. And apologies if anyone thinks its a bit trivial, some of us are hooked on facebook as well as mumsnet

Just discovered a group on Facebook called Hey Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!

Apparently Facebook are removing all breastfeeding pics and giving people warnings.

NOT GOOD!

That's crappy.

For god's sake why? I really can't see why they need to do that?

I joined that group and added my pic about 3 weeks ago, and it's already 20 pages in!

I haven't had a warning as I think the sheer volume of pics means facebook have given up, so go and post a pic now!

(But don't look unless you are SURE you won't feel broody as there are some gorgeous pics there!)

There's lovely pics of my cousin's girlfriend bfing their new baby on his sister's profile.

Report
elkiedee · 27/08/2007 23:29

I should add, as an album of pics of new baby posted by a proud auntie, they're not the only pics there but they're part of a set of great photos of an important experience.

That's outrageous.

Mind you, nothing on earth would make me post the one bf pic that I have. That would truly give people nightmares (being 10 mins after a 3 hour pushing marathon)

I have bf pics and noone has contacted me!

I wonder if they're removing all the photos of cleavage shots and women with boobs hanging out too if not then there might be a case there.

More dross from the anti-children brigade - this time on facebook! WTF????

Report
Twinklemegan · 28/08/2007 00:19

Blimey - what is she on?

Report
Gingerbear · 28/08/2007 00:24

I know - if you don't want children, fine, but don't shove it down our throats!
Go and keep 1000 cats on a farm in Kentucky with your shrivelled up tits.

She can't even spell "discreetly" correctly - "discretely" means something different - yes, I know I'm pedantic!

That is quite possibly the most horrendous thing i have ever read. I really hope that person is not serious, if they are then i am very, very

I'm loving that we have nothing else to do all day so we might as well pump. And we can obviously make our newborn wait until it's convenient to feed him/her.

And I didn't ever feed in public, because it was too blardy difficult. But I liked knowing I could if I could (IYSWIM).

Oh ignorance is bliss, isn't it?

Awww, gorgeous (didn't realise you were Flamesparrow).

I just can't get into Facebook. In fact I've just removed a load of stuff off my profile because I realised I don't want old school friends to know too much about me.

Report
FlameBatfink · 28/08/2007 01:08

Lol, I have settled into Batfink nicely

I decided that I am far too easily findable anyway due to me sharing any information with everyone , so it doesn't really bother me how much is on there!!

I suspect Facebook is actually not removing pics of people bf - just my instinct for myth, here, and common sense.

The anti-public bf is clearly US-based, and some of the arguments and the text remind me of a spoof website I found a few years ago.

I would suggest people don't comment on it - that's to take it seriously and it doesn't deserve that!

Does that mean they are taking the photos off of the women who use facebook as a shag fest site and post photos of themselves with their chests out?
