DD is still taking SMA Progress, 6 ozs at night and 6 ozs in the morning. Should she still be drinking that much?

She doesn't drink cows milk at all other than a little with her cereal, but she only has cereal a couple days a week. How much cows milk should she be drinking? I've tried to get her to drink more cows milk by giving her 6 ozs at night instead of SMA but she keeps rejecting it. Any idead how to get her to drink cows milk?

Thanks

Have you tried mixing the two? Maybe 1oz cows milk mixed with 5 of SMA and then increasing the amount oz by oz?

Yes introduce cows milk gradually so she doesn't notice the replacement

That's how we changed from formula to cow's milk when dd was 12 months. It didn't make any difference to her, SMA is made of cow's milk anyway so if your dd is fine with that then mixing the 2 is unlikely to upset her.

We did it by starting off with 5oz formula 1oz cow, then 2 days later 4oz formula 2 oz milk, then 3oz formula 3oz cow's milk after a couple more days. I think we then left it 3 or 4 days before going to 2oz formula 4oz cow's and 1 oz formula 5 oz cow's. Then we just added a scoop of formula to a bottle of cow's for a couple more days before just giving plain cow's which she was fine with.

Cow's milk does taste really different to formula because formula is sweetened so doing it gradually makes life a lot easier for her.

2 bottles a day sounds fine though. Both of my 2 dropped the morning and night bottles by themselves, so if your dd still wants them, let her!

I never knew formula milk was sweetened.
