I'm not sure where to put this, so it has gone here!!

Have heard some contraceptive pills can have negative impact on levels of milk you can produce- as in reduces it!

does anyone know what contraceptive pill is ok to take whilst b/f? my doctor isn't the most helpful of docs and just tends to throw a prescription in my direction

I think you can take the mini-pill while breastfeeding as it only contains progestogen (doesnt contain oestrogen which can affect milk produstion)

I personally wouldn't take any hormones while breast feeding. Could you use condoms until you have finished bf?

yes, my HV & Midwife & GP all told me I would be ok on mini-pill altho' haven't bothered yet. 3-4 night wakings is contraceptive enough for me at the moment sadly!

I was on the mini pill from 6 weeks until 6 months after DD was born, didn't notice any difference in milk supply at all until I got pregnant when she was 12 months
