What are the signs of diarrhoea in a breastfed baby?
DS (4 weeks old today) nappies have been quite runny and there’s been a lot of poo in each one. They’ve also been a dark yellow (which is normal) but mixed in with dark green. There was a little bit of mucous in one too.
He seems fine in himself though, very alert, no temperature, not sleepy or anything, not crying too much either.

Should I be concerned? Do I need to call someone? FTM so very anxious about all of this.

Sounds within the realms of normal tbh

Baby poo is super weird! Green poo usually signifies an excess of foremilk, so might be worth expressing a bit off before you feed to make sure he’s getting plenty of hindmilk.

Keep an eye, it usually clears up after a few more nappies, if not give your GP a call just to check. But if well in himself I wouldn’t worry too much at the moment.

Are you changing boobs quickly ? Baby needs to on the save boob for longer to get the more fatty milk which they get after feeding for abit
