I shouldn't be but i'm confused on when to express milk for my excl bf 5 week old baby. If he's feeding on demand when do i express? I'm worried he'll have no milk then if he needs it.

I used to express at the end of a feed. I’d get about 50ml of milk each time so had to express about three times to have a full feed.

DS refused to drink from a bottle though, he would just refuse to feed until I came home!

I'd do it just after a feed. You won't get as much, but you can slowly build up a stash. Once you have some in freezer, you can pump when your away to replace what's been used.

I was advised to do it first thing in the morning and to feed from the same side the two feeds before. (For me they were night feeds)

You can also get a 'pump' that catches the drips from the other side while baby is feeding. They're called HAAKAA and only a few quid from amazon. It will be useful so you can start building up a stash then use a proper pump when feeding settles.

Ok, so this is going to be hard work . Have just ordered some milk catchers and will start to pump after feeds...
