Bit of a ramble but hope you can help! DD is 5mths and has her last feed at about 7.30pm. She then wakes once at about 4am - 4.30am and feeds hungrily for about 10-15mins from just one side before dropping off again. She then wakes about 6am, and I feed her 6.30-7am but she's not that hungry and certainly doesn't have two boob's worth! This means that when she's ready for her morning nap about 9am she seems genuinely hungry and absolutely won't settle without milk!!! So a snack now then buggers up the next feed (i.e. not a full one) and so on through the day. If I wake her earlier in the night e.g. about 3am instead, do you think this will sort the issue, or just lead to sleeping problems?? DD used to feed earlier in the night, have a big morning feed and go to sleep no probs about 8.30-9am. She's due to start nursery 3 days a week in four weeks and snacking is not going to be an option don't want to add to the changes she'll experience so trying to cure this now.

Could you try a feed around 10.30/11pm to see if that gets your lo past the 4am feed?

yes have tried the 10pm feed - this worked twice (just to show us a glimpse of sleep heaven!!! ) but mostly dd still wakes around 4.30-5am or a bit later. I may be a lazy so and so but I find a 5am wake up really hard to deal with as she's then awake for the day! Will have to persist I suppose and see if she stretches out to 6am eventually!
