Breastfeeding in a sling?

AIBU to not understand how breastfeeding in a sling works....

Can anyone enlighten me?

Would love to be able to work this out! My wee babe feeds a lot and if I could work out sling feeding I'd feel a LOT less trapped!

Sorry can't help you as ds refused to feed in any position other than laying across a pillow (typical boy.) my back took a hammering which is why I had to stop at 6 months and he's the same with his bottles now!! This kid likes to lay down a lot!! Hmm

I was lucky if I could get the sling on and baby in said sling successfully all by myself let alone feed on the go. That has always amazed me and some mums make it look so easy!!

I used to carry my kids in a wrap, and it was just a case of loosening the knot in the back, bumping the baby down until their face was at boob height, refastening the knot and letting them go at it. I found it quite tricky to get the hang of it initially, but once I'd figured it out it made my life so much easier! My son practically lived in the wrap for his first 6 months. Do you have a sling library near you? They tend to be experienced with things like that, so may be able to demonstrate/help you figure it out in person Smile
