DD is just shy of 9 months, and still mostly breastfed, but I have a feeling she will wean herself off before one as she is so keen on proper food, so I am making the most of these months.
She doesn't half do some weird things while feeding though. I feed her to sleep and we cosleep so I am lying next to her. She likes to caress the boob she isn't feeding from just as she is falling asleep, but prior to this she practices her pincer grip on the nipple which hurts like hell, and although I'm proud of her developing motor skills I'm not enough of a martyr to just let her, so she just moves on to the rest of the boob, looking at me devilishly and grinning with the other breast in her mouth.
When she was a newborn she would open her mouth incredibly wide and trash her head side to side going cross eyed looking for the nipple and then lunge in for the kill, seeming really excited. It was such a funny face I wish I had filmed her.
She also now has started to roll onto her tummy and gets her legs into a crawling position and shuffles back and forth, all while still latched on, which combined with what I can only describe as a crocodile death roll against my side (presumably to get me to move up) is getting pretty tiresome at nap time, but is thoroughly amusing.
A friends baby used to direct the nipple into her mouth like she was delicately holding a straw which was hilarious to see, her dd really examining it twisting and turning before latching on.
Anyone else have a baby that does strange things while feeding?
