OMG, haven't fed ds (2.6) for 2 days!

Been away for weekend and have told him there is no more milk and he seems ok about it! have mixed feelings as want to stop but now am panicking as I don't really know how to parent/nurse him if he's ill without bfing. and feel really emotional, as if he must be really confused. am I doing the right thing? feel like am being selfish!

You will still comfort/parent him with love and cuddles just no milk, why did you decide to stop now?

You say he is ok with it, so don't feel guilty or selfish after over 2yrs.

thanks, Matnan - decided to stop as he is waking so often at night it's getting ridiculous and is making me so tired and qute low, tbh

this is my 3rd day without feedign him - what do I do with my boobs? just leave them and express a tiny bit if they are hard? scared of getting mastitis!

my hv said no need to express and no risk of mastitus - just stop! she also said painkillers and binding if it hurts!

i stopped bfing dd at the beginning of january.i know what you mean about feeling selfish!!i stopped because she waking up so many times during teh night and wouldnt go back to sleep without a booby,and during teh day,if she so much as got upset,she was straight on my boobs!!i got to the point where i had had enough and i couldnt do it anymore,i was exhausted.

dd was 2.6 aswell,and i slowly reduced the amount that i would let her come to my boobs!(i used to distract her to take her mind off it!!)i thought i would feel uncomfortable after stopping,but i didnt,and you really shouldnt express any,even if they do hurt,as it will keep your milk coming.

even though we have now stopped she still comes to me and cuddles and nuzzles my boobs,and even starts running her hands over me looking for a nipple!but that is mainly when she is tired and she goes straight off to sleep.

im pg again (found out at teh end of jan) and god knows how dd will react to someone else on my boobs!!

dont feel guilty about stopping,he is big enough now that he doesnt rely on breats milk.

ds has come out in chicken pox - feel REALLY bad now but after 3 full days of not bfing, really can't go back to it! buffy, was same as you - ds constantly hanging off a boob- have cut down but night times have been getting worse again. he seems quite Ok about it atm - just says ' bye, nummmies'!
