Mum AND baby with viral gastroenteritis (DH of course is 'fine')

I think there must be something in the water.....my DD (19 weeks) got viral gastroenteritis Tuesday/Wednesday and vomited all over me. We caught ours at the bloody baby health clinic I'm sure, it was full of mums complaining about their babies vomiting but I didn't know any better so sat there for an hour.
Then yesterday I started with the D&V too - didn't know which end to attend to first . Suddenly starting to regret our overly large bathroom where you can't sit on the loo and puke in the sink (nappy bucket saved the day!)
Unfortunately mine got so bad I started vomiting blood and have been given these pills to put under my gum which stop you throwing up because I apparently have no stomach lining left and can look forward to a liquid diet with no dairy for quite a few weeks.
But enough whinging (I'll no doubt be tickedy boo in three days AND my MiL has cancelled a visit because she doesn't want to catch it so every cloud...... ) I've already had the raised eyebrows from DH when I refused this evening's medication because I didn't want it to get into my BM.
My question, lovely knowledgeable mumsnetters is this:
I have stopped all food but BM for my little one (god it's killing me, she's 20lbs!) because I'm concerned that he stomach lining will be more susceptible to allergies now it's taken a pounding. So is it okay to stop weaning altogether and wait till she's six months (we are thinking of trying baby led weaning). Is it cruel to stop food when your baby has had a couple of weeks of it - she doesn't seem to have noticed TBH.
Also, how do I manage to create enough milk if I can't eat anything - since yesterday I've kept down five rehydration sachets and a cup of tea. I know I've got about 20lbs of fat spare so it's not a 'I'm a size zero and will die' (although once you've been starved for 48 hours it becomes a slightly more appealing option ).
Any advice really appreciated.

If she hasn't noticed you stopping food I wouldn't worry. When ds had this he wouldn't have anything but breastmilk for about a week, and then took another week to get back fully onto his normal amount of solids, and he's nearly 17 months. It just meant I had to feed more often and your body should adjust to cope with demand, even if you haven't eaten much, mine did, although I wasn't anywhere near as bad as you've been.

Hope you both start to feel better soon.

Thanks LittleLapin - Bloody DH said: 'ooh you should spend the day in bed with DD so you have a chance to get better.' She spent the day (and night) doing vocal trills at the top of her lungs and demanding milk every 30 minutes because she was excited to be in mummy's bed while daddy slept soundly next door.

But of course if he gets it, he'll clearly be at death's door.

Hi DontlookatmeImshy,

Nope she hasn't noticed because in the last two days she's discovered how to roll over and also that she has FEET! Apparently they are very exciting. She's also cut three teeth (arrgh).

I think I will keep her off solids. We only tried baby rice and a few fruits and that was only because I couldn't cope with her demands for feeding every two hours (for an hour).

Sorry to hear you got it too though, I thought I couldn't get it because I had it years ago (umm yeah because bugs don't mutate over 30 years do they ) and frankly I didn't care when she was being sick and was upset, I just wanted my darling to be well again (ooh I was fierce with the doctors receptionist, but not as fierce as my DD who vomited on her ) Serves her right for implying it wasn't serious enough to warrant an appointment I say!
