Breastfeeding and dummies

My LO is nearly 5 week old and is breast fed. She likes to just sit on my breast and suckle herself to sleep, as all babies do!! Im trying to stop this and seeing if i can soothe her by other ways i.e. via a dummie. Ive tried two types neither she will take, Mum and Tommee Tippee. She takes the TT one for about 5 seconds then spits it out. Does anyone recommend a dummie for bf babies??

My DD would only take the avent ones. One thing to try is to hold the teet in the roof of her mouth for a few seconds until she's sucking properly (also a very handy tip if you decide to give her a bottle at any point!). My friends baby won't have a dummy full stop though, I guess some just don't like them?!

Mam do a tiny 0-2 month size. My ds had these no problem. He was prem and bf.

You might have left it a bit late tbh, IME BF babies only accept dummies if you give them quite early on. My BF baby had his from a few days old. It's not advised due to nipple confusion/missing hunger cues but never caused any problems for us - 11 months and still going.
