I've written several posts about the problems I've had getting the hang of breast feeding so won't go into it too much.
I can't seem to get the hang of feeding and getting ds to sleep. He is almost 4 weeks old. Currently using a nipple shield (trying to wean with no success so far). Ds gives him a bottle of ebm at about 9ish and he sleeps fine for a couple of hours and then direct breastfeed when he wakes up. He'll feed really well from one side and fall asleep, I'll try and wake him to have more and move him onto the next side, he'll lose interest and fall asleep. I'll move him onto the bed or cot and he'll stay asleep for 5 minutes and then will stir before waking and rooting for more food. This will go on and on and we'll end up feeding until dp wakes up for this next ebm bottle at 6ish in the morning.
This also happens during the day where he'll feed, fall asleep on me and then I'll be stuck and unable to move for fear of waking him and having a day of continuous feeding.
What am I doing wrong here? Does it sound like he's not getting enough milk from me? I think I've messed up the feeding a bit as he is feeding from a bottle a couple of times a day and I'm using nipple shields so not sure he's feeding efficiently.
