Want to stop BF 18 month old dd

I'm really trying to make it to two years like I did with my son but it's different this time. If I'm honest I'm starting to find it really annoying and want her off.
She seems well developed for her age, chattering away, eating everything she sees and reaching all her milestones but she reverts to a newborn every night. Feeding 3-4 times.
When she was a few weeks old she used to sleep through until she was 4 months then she started waking up constantly.
Any tips? You think I would know having been through this before but that seemed to be a mutual ending of BF and this time it's more me that wants to stop.

I would start by not feeding her during the night, only at bedtime, to see if that makes it more bearable for you and you can make it for another few months.

I did this by just offering cuddles instead of bf, saying no, no milk until it's morning but you can have a cuddle.

Then you can gradually drop the going to sleep feed.

I felt exactly like you at this stage. I night weaned first using a gentle method explained by Dr Jay Gordon

I had instant results and actually carried on feeding (during the day, morning and bedtime only) for another 12 months.

Start with reading the blog and pass it your Dp too, it's important they are on board as it isn't just you that will help with this process.

I'm at this stage. However "luckily" I've been really sick so have been sleeping in the spare room which has put an end to night feeds. This has been such a relief.

I don't think you need to completely wean her if you don't want to, just night wean and then see if you feel better when you get more sleep? Last feed 7pm, don't feed again until 6am - can you send in your OH to do night wakings for a week or so? Also, try not to feed her to sleep at bedtime as I know from experience this can make night wakings more likely!

I am in this position with my 14mo. I'm pregnant and just don't think I can do it any more.

We did night wean and it went ok for a couple of weeks but now she's just started screaming, arching her back, won't even be held when she wakes in the night. All that calms her is feeding.

I feel like I'm at breaking point. You are not alone, OP.
