Dd2 is 5 weeks and is EBF. She's always had fairly explosive poo's but recently they've gotten quite smelly and slightly darker in colour, more brown than yellow. Sometimes they look a bit mucusy as well. Dd1 never had smelly poo's and they were always yellow and 'sweet' smelling, I'm wondering why dd2's are different when both have been EBF from birth. The only major difference is that I had an infection after dd2 was born and had lots of antibiotics, although they were finished 3 weeks ago. I've been taking probiotics which has helped my digestive system recover as I had the runs for ages but am back to normal now.
Dd2 gets lots of wind as well (both ends) and is a fussy feeder, which i think is down to my forceful let down. I'm not due to see a HV for a couple of weeks, I did mention the explosive poo thing to her but she didn't seem concerned. The smell and colour change is a bit odd though isn't it?

DD's poos were regularly green and/or brown. She's five months now, but until about 4 months, they were like that. Apart from the first few weeks, when they were yellow, seedy and sweet-smelling. BUt that never came back again.

Midwife, GP and paediatrician all said it's totally normal with breastfed babies, and they weren't concerned in the slightest. Sometimes she had very mucousy poo, and once with a little blood in. Again, was told it's all normal.

She's totally fine and happy and healthy :)
