Do you have to wear a nursing bra?

My dd is 6 months now and excl b/f. Can i stop wearing those awful nursing bras, in favour of something prettier. Is it true that wires interfere with milk supply?Thanx.

If it is properly fitted it shouldnt make any difference imo.

The wire should't rest against your breast tissue anyway if it fits properly.

But they are good for lowering down so the baby can get to the milk.

ds is 5 months and i bought an underwire bra last week as i got sick of the lack of support of the nursing bra.... like shona said just make sure it's well fitted... go a cup size up if it's even a little tight as it'll cause probs if your breast has too much pressure on it when it's full

i don't find it that much more awkward to undo at the back and hoist up tbh

Thanx pinktulips. Nab3 I have been wearing a non-wired bra just for a trial this afternoon and find that I can pull it down underneath my boob, without any probs.

Agree with Pinkdolly - I wasn't wearing a bra at night but found my boobs were getting really sore, so bought myself a two pack of non-wired "Value" bras from Tesco for £3 and just pull the cup down to feed - they're cotton and stretchy enough to do this - bargain!
