Infant feeding

How many BF does your 9 to 10 month old have per day?

Just that really. Have never fed an older baby and am confused by them needing 21 oz of milk a day.

If at 6 months before food, he was having 8 feeds per 24h. And a bf baby has 25oz in 24h. The each feed was 3oz. If he now has 5 then is he getting enough milk?

Or if you mix feed this age baby how many bottles or bf's?

Thank you x

TBH I have 4 DC and at the age of 9-10 months they varied hugely in how many milk feeds they had.

2 of them gave up milk completely before a year old, they just weren't keen on it.

1 was a complete milk addict

another was somewhere in the middle.

Just offer feeds and let a new pattern emerge and stop worrying Smile

Mine are a older now, but at that age I think they had around 3 breastfeeds a day. Morning, afternoon and evening. I couldn't have fitted any more in as they ate meals also

By 12 months they had dropped to just two feeds ( which they carried on with until 3 years)

I love you! It's the epitaph of my life. Just stop worrying. (I am not being sarcastic btw). I was just finding it so confusing. Honestly if you saw the size of my little man you'd laugh. He's chubby!

Ok so I'll just follow his lead.

Absolutely follow his lead, unless his weight gain/growth/health was a concern then let them find their own way Smile

I think that age I BF morning and night and did one formula in the day. Then at 10 months gave up breastfeeding and dropped the middle of the day feed. Dropped the morning one not long after. 22 months still has cows milk before bath at night.

When DD was 9 months she was still having about 6-8 breastfeeds a day. And I was (fruitlessly) limiting breastfeeds to encourage her to eat!

No honestly, just stop worrying. By 10 months, my DC1 was having 0 feeds and 0 milk in any other way. Just refused. He's fine.
