16 month old refused bedtime feed, is this the end?

My 16 month old feeds 2-3 times a day normally but tonight he refused the bedtime feed, just arched his back and cried. I cuddled him to calm him down, tried again and he did the same thing. Eventually I put him in his cot and he took ages to stop crying and get to sleep, lots of cuddles and shush-patting needed. Is he self weaning? I hope not. Apart from a 6 month gap in 2009/2010 I've been pregnant or breastfeeding since 2005. This is my last baby. DH is being really unhelpful, saying "well it was starting to get weird anyway".

Thankyou. DS fed fine the next morning and has done ever since so I think it was just a blip.
