Reflux - going dairy free how strict??

lol is in gaviscon and ranitidine for reflux. Symptoms much improved but still cries often and very clingy so considering changing to oats milk since she is bf. I don't eat cheese or yoghurt, butter or creamy things. How strict should I be in terms of having a slice of sponge cake for instance or dollop of low fat coleslaw? Is it a total no no?

Some coleslaws are dairy free and you can get/make decent dairyfree cakes.
If reflux is still happening.

IME going dairy free while breastfeeding, I needed to be VERY strict. For example, having been df for a few months and seen a huge improvement in ds, I slipped up and had a sandwich made with butter. The following day he was miserable, gripey and windy. He was about 20m, so able to let me know how he was feelling.

You just have to check ingredients scrupulously.

Properly made mayo should not be dairy - eggs are not dairy - but many have cream added. Helmans 'full-fat' mayo is dairy-free.

Thank you. Planning in buying oats milk and making a dairy free cake. Any hints or tips.

Use Pure sunflower marg. it's quite a good substitute.

Some mayo in squirty bottles isn't dairy free when the jars are. Just check labels. We buy tesco own brand.

There's a good support group on Facebook, Just search for 'cmpa support breastfeeding'. There's also a cmpa weaning group.
