10 month old weaning off bf

DS has been fairly determined to drop all daytime bf over the past few weeks. he's still insisting on 2 overnight feeds, generally around 11:30 and 3am.
we have not had a single full nights sleep in 10 mo and I'm not happy to continue only bf overnight.
however, he won't take a bottle or formula, and I'm not really willing either to start expressing for several cups of milk daily that will no doubt go to waste as he drinks only a bit from his straw cup at the moment.

do I have to keep up the night feeds? or is water and the fact that he's great with yogurt and cheese enough?
