Baby won't take a bottle

Hi. I'm new here so don't really know what I'm doing! My baby girl is 17 weeks and is due to start nursery at 6 months old for three days a week. At the moment she will only go to sleep on me, holding her or BF to sleep. My massive concern is how she'll sleep at nursery without me. I can't bare the thought of her being left to cry it out! Also I don't express well so I'll need to get her into formula by then. So far she's refused any formula or projectile vomited it when she has taken it (twice when she was about 2 months old). Just after some reassurance. Finding the thought of nursery very emotional.

She'll be fine, honestly.

By 6 months she'll have started weaning, so if worst comes to worst and she won't take a bottle at all, they can give her an extra yogurt or cheese snack. Some babies will just have an extra feed when you get in, or add an extra one in the evening. Mine did this and managed fine smile. Plus it's only 3 days a week.

Expressing. Try and pick a time every day to express. Mine was 9pm as that was the biggest gap between feeds. Express the same time every day, and you'll soon build up an extra feed. If you really want to get her on to formula, try building up slowly, so 1oz formula; 5 oz breast milk, then in a couple of days 2oz formula: 4 oz breastmilk etc. it'll help adjust her stomach slowly.

Sleeping at nursery. Nursery staff are do experienced, they'll manage. I had the same worry but she slept fine. No crying it out at all, generally once one was off to sleep the rest all copied, once they are lying down and quiet they nod off no problem.

My first DS was the same. U went to pick him up after his settling in session at nursery when he was 9 months old and he was asleep in the cot. Ds2 is the same and he starts nursery next week. This time I'm not worrying.

Thanks for your replies. Being a FTM, I guess I'm just very emotional about everything. In the day time I feel stronger then deteriorate at night :-) I'm sure she'll be bigger and stronger in another ten weeks and a lot can change in that time!
