Best time to give toddlers cows milk? Mealtimes or inbetween? Before or after tooth brushing?

I've been giving my 1yr old cows milk at mealtimes and water inbetween. What's best? How much does it ruin their appetite for food and does that matter?

Also, bedtime milk after brushing teeth - okay or not?

I followed what annabel karmel suggested, milk mid morning with a snack, and mid afternoon and then at bedtime. Water with meals. Worked for my two, but if your child is happy having it at meal times then just carry on x

Ideally it's preferable to brush teeth after milk but it's not like OJ or squash so it's half as bad. Might be easier to try and avoid getting into milk after teeth brushing just for longer term. We did do milk after teeth for a few weeks after I gave up bfeeding but stopped it and my dd didn't seem to notice.
