Refusing to feed after jabs?

Has anyone else had this? My 8 week old DD has gone five hours without a feed (this might be normal for most, but she often feeds every hour) and outright refuses the breast when offered.

She's downright miserable and won't stop crying in between sleeps, which I expected, but I never expected her to go on a hunger strike! What do I do?

She might just be feeling too upset to feed. Have you tried giving calpol to help her feel better as fixing that might help the feeding?

If she continues to not feed it might be worth checking with HV/GP just to see what they suggest. My oldest just slept after jabs so did go longer between feeds but my youngest wanted to latch on for comfort so they are all a bit different.

Her legs where the injections were may be very sore and you could be applying pressure when feeding ?!?

I'm sure someone told me that with DD1.

I was going to say the exact same thing as mcbany - you might need to adjust the way you hold her to feed her to make sure she isn't putting any weight on her outer thighs.

My Dd was exactly the same after her first jabs. She went 8 hours between feeds (usually fed every 45 minutes-1.5 hrs). I was just about to call Nhs direct when I finally got her to feed whilst pacing up and down the hallway. I'm not sure if the motion was a distraction. She then slept most of the night too.

Hope your little one has had a feed, it's awful when they are feeling bad.
