Thrush or bad latch?

What is the difference between the pain from thrush and bad latch? Not sure what I've got. Nipples feel bruised and chafed.

Thrush for me felt like needles being pulled out of my nipple with a magnet. Hurt after feeding too. Eventually I gothe typical thrush white patches on my nipple but the pain was there for a good while before that.
Hope you don't have it, maybe go to a breastfeeding drop in group? They can help with your latch and also will know the signs of thrush.

I also meant to say it might be both. Thrush can get in where there has been nipple trauma. Mine were battered due to DSs tongue tie / poor latch and then got thrush.

Thrush is supposed to feel like glass splinters in babys mouth.

Bruised and chafed sounds more like a latch issue or tongue tie.
