Colic

My DD is 5 days old and the last two nights since my milk came in she is screaming from 6pm (last night it went on til 12pm and today shows no sign of stopping yet). It's a classic colic pattern, screaming and drawing legs up then passing wind on and off. She is DC3 and my DS1 had the same and we just had to ride it out until 4 months Blush. I really don't want to go though it again! I have bought some infacol this morning which I have given her before each feed today. Does anyone have any other advice? She is EBF, but won't latch on when she's in a screaming phase, but feeds well otherwise. Help please!

No advice, really, but lots of sympathy.

DD is almost 6 weeks and we have the same most nights. Have had since she was about a week old. Last night she only stopped screaming between 6pm and midnight for the 5 minutes she was in the bath.

We're mostly using Infacol and pacing.

White noise seems to be helpful, though. The hairdryer and the hoover usually stop her crying for a bit. You can get white noise apps, and we've just ordered a white noise machine in the hope that it might help a bit.

You poor things. Dd is 18 weeks now and it settled down about 5 weeks ago. We found colief was the only thing that helped it but I think you just have to ride it out.

Thank you both. She's had a bit of a crying spell this morning too, so I've put her in a ring sling with her legs bunched up in fetal position. It's stopped her crying for now and she's asleep, so I'll persevere with the infacol and sling and see what happens. Absolutely shattered!
