Taste of different formulas

Do they taste different? My dd1 always had aptimil and wasn't fussy in taking the bottle but dd2 is a bottle refuser - the only ones we've had any real success with are mam and playtex nursers.

Anyway I wondered if the formula could be the culprit, so I tried sma with her last week, but she has been really sicky since - this could be a coincidence as I don't actually think she drank any more than a sip of the formula. I also read that cow and gate was identical to aptamil so tried that too - she drank a little bit this morning but it doesn't help that she has learned to blow raspberries at the same time, this morning it was like she was trying to play the clarinet on the bottle!

I wondered if it was worth trying hipp? Does it taste any different?

She won't take EBM from it but I wonder if she is one of these babies that associate the bottle with formula and mummy with her milk?

I'm really starting to overthink this and get stressed out, I just want to be confident she will take a bottle.

I've not tasted them, but I can't imagine there's much difference.

Have you tried her with a bottle of EBM?

Yes, she took EBM in the beginning (3 weeks) but started refusing at about 7/8 weeks. I wasted loads of EBM trying to get her to take a bottle, trying different ones etc but got her to take a few feeds from the mam bottle, the nurser and the avent natural - but she won't entertain that one now which is a shame. She'll play with the mam one, bite the teat and look as though she is sucking but will hardly drink anything now.

Hv said to only try with formula as was wasting so much bm.

All formulas are equally good as one another but they don't taste exactly the same. For example, Aptamil tasted sweeter than Cow and Gate IMO. However, they are not enormously different in taste to each other so I would think whatever formula you try you will probably have issues.

Thanks, I'm sure I won't get the magic answer I was looking for then! I guess it is just a case of persevering with the same bottle from now on, I might give the Hipp a try anyway, it's not like she's formula fed so it won't be a drastic change to her diet, nothing to lose by trying anyway!

My ds notices a difference between the powder and cartons of ready made formula. The cartons seem to make him sick more, they are much creamier in colour too so not sure if they taste any different?
