Am not feeling hopeful. Summarised history of BF & bottle refusing DD (15 weeks). Happily took rare an occasional Avent bottle of EBM from week 5 till 7 then started to get distressed by it. Gave up for a week or 2 and since then have tried cheap supermarket own brand (happily chewed but wouldn't suck), Nuk silicone (wouldn't touch), Nuk latex (took for about a week then the teat started to go too quickly and now she won't take it), Madela (chews but doesn't suck again) & a doidy cup (lapped about 1/2oz happily but spilt about 4oz so am not keen on that as a 1st choice!). After promising myself I was resigned to BFing till 12 months again I was tempted by the lure of Tommee Tippee CTN on special offer. I'm setting myself up for another expensive disappointment, aren't I? Sad

FWIW, TT CTN were the bottles that cracked my refuser DC1 eventually.

Good luck!!

Well, they failed with all three of mine (sorry). Soft-spouted cup? Nothing with a valve though. TBH the only thing that kind-of worked for us (9mo twins and 4yo) was the really cheap TT sippy cups. DS1 tried pretty much every bottle on the market with absolutely no success... But given the expense already I suppose it can't hurt. Don't buy many though!

I think I may set up a bottle rental service!

My DD1 was happy with avent for top up feeds but after they were no longer needed she refused them. Like you, I tried loads of different bottles. Mam anti-colic ones broke her. The teat is sort of oval/flattened but not sliced off like the nuk ones. Might be worth a try?

Going to persist with the TT after this morning's success. She took it from me and not DH so I sense she still has a few tricks up her sleeve!

abi thanks for this thread. Please excuse my hijacking.

I am going through similar thing with 14 week old dd. she's tried the Avent " natural" ones and the peculiar Medela one but seems to suck fiercely only to take just 1 oz in about 10 minutes! I have some tt ones that you describe from dd (he's now 2.5 and only used them a handful of times.

Hmmmmm. To clean and use or buy some new??

I would reuse the bottles and just buy new teats (under a fiver I think). The avent bottles I had were from my friend and had been used loadsShock
