Not sure if this is the right place to post, but my DD seems to be constipated, i just want the best advice as top how to ease this?

For two days now she has had really hard stools and each time she as passed them she has cried, in what i can only imagine to be pain. They havent been very big and have looked very dry. I started her on Formula about three weeks ago, ( shes both bf and ff at the mo)and have been very careful about measuring the right quantities maybe its just a delayed reaction to the change in her diet. But i dont want it to get any worse so wondered what i had to do ? This morning she had a poo and it had a little bit of blood in it, i am guessing its because shes straining so hard, am off to see HV this afternoon, but any comments/advice more than welcome

does she drink water as well? give her plenty. (in my experience there is always a stage when they get a bit constipated).

no she hasnt been drinking water, and i tried yesterday and today to give her cooled bolied water but she takes two or three sucks and then realises what it isnt and promptly spits it out! I wil persevere though, is it too early to give diluted juice?

I don't know if it's too early Jays, though diluted orange juice should help with the constipation. Maybe you can try to give her the water with a spoon? It took me ages to "teach" my children to drink water...
