I just replied to a thread and it made me realise my DD will be two in June.
I didn't manage to breastfeed my first 3 DC, at the time I thought I couldn't and didn't get any advice from health professionals. This time I was determined and got all the information I could, lots of it from reading Mumsnet. I got lots of reassurance here in the early days and weeks too and got through 4 weeks of agony every time DD latched, cracked bleeding nipples, 11 bouts of blasted mastitis and now here we are, DD is nearly 2, I am 14 weeks pregnant and 'still' breastfeeding!
I hope to continue to BF DD and this baby to self weaning and I am now a peer supporter too so that I can hopefully support other Mums who want to to BF. I really do feel I've achieved something and at the same time shown that the correct advice and support can make all the difference.
Sorry for the 'all about me' thread, but it's made me quite emotional and perhaps it can give hope or encouragement to other ladies out there?
