Expressing - can I use same bottle for different sessions?

So I'm currently expressing as unable to bf.

I don't get very much out at each go so the bottle is pretty empty. I store it in the fridge between expressing sessions but rather than use a different bottle each time for such a small amount, do you think I could just use the same bottle for the whole day? (I sterilise the other attachments after expressing each time)

I was told you could keep adding to the same bottle for 24 hours then either freeze or use. That was from HV. I expressed for 7 months, drink a lot of water and express very frequently, doing this boosted my supply, express even when you are producing nothing, is will make your body produce more. Good luck!

I think you have to make sure you add cold to cold so I have 2 bottles, express into one and put in fridge, express into second and put in fridge, once cold, add to first bottle, then use second bottle for any further expressing, and repeat as necessary.

I was told I could store and top up for 24 hours.
I am confused though as if you can store milk for 6-8 days in fridge (mv says 6 la leche 8) then why can't you just add and add long as it doesn't go over that time frame!

I didn't think you could add warm to fridge cold.

I was also told not to add warm to cold.

Also, I thought you could only store it in fridge for 72 hours, not 6 to 8 days.
