Infant feeding

Away for 3 days - what will happen...?

My DD is 13mo and we are down to one feed per day (first thing in the morning). I am going away with friends this weekend for three nights - the first time I will have been away from my DD for longer than a day, and first time over night. I'm really not looking forward to it. We booked the weekend ages ago when I assumed (not sure why) that I would no longer be feeding. Just wondering if three days with no feeding will be the end of my milk? She is slowly becoming less interested in feeding so it won't be the end of the world, but I don't want the decision to stop to be made by external factors iyswim.
She was poorly last week and I gave her lots of lovely BM - not sure if I'm ready for that to no longer be an option. :(

If you pump each morning then I don't see that your milk would dry up, so if your DD wanted to continue feeding when you returned then that wouldn't be an issue.
Plus you might need to express for comfort reasons anyway!

I don't have a pump - I could hand express in the shower I guess!

DD is 2.3 years old and still breastfeeding. She has been away with her dad (we are separated) twice 10 days each time this summer and I did not pump or anything. I did hand express a few days when my boobs hurted too much. Once she was back I stil had plenty of milk. I even tried to stop breastfeeding her after separating from her dad and managed 6 weeks and when she latched on on the breast there was still plenty of milk.

If I was you and with my experience I would not worry too much and enjoy the time with your friends Grin
