feeding on cue - what cue?

hi, im am bfing my two month old. shes a pretty good baby and is currently waking twice at night- well, not really waking... she starts making little noises and if three hrs have passed since her last feed, i pick her up and feed her. she always eats.
the question is: when do you pick them up to eat at night?
i am wondering if im oversensitive and cheating myself out of sweet sleep...

That's the same way I'm feeding my 6wo DS at night - if he's making enough noise to wake me (he doesn't really cry) and it's 2-3 hours since his last feed, I feed him. They only have little tummies, and he'd wake me up again half an hour later if I didn't feed him so I might as well.

Those are feeding cues, fulllife, and you are responding in the way your dd 'expects' and that's lovely for her and is likely to prevent real distress which will be harder for you to settle her after :)

If she feeds, she was hungry so these must have been cues! It's always worth offering them the breast when they stir at night; of course this is much easier if you bed share so I understand your reluctance to get out of bed and lift up baby when she might not be hungry. Every three hours or so, though, she is probably going to take a feed. Best to get to her before she has to cry.

crying is the very last sign of hunger, so if you leave her untill she cry's she'll possibly harder to latch on and will take a lot longer to setal after.
