My 10 month DS has has tummy bug for a week now. Really bad for first days ended up in hosp fir IV fluids wed morning as he had refused all fluids milk ORS etc fir 12 hours. He rallied for a couple if days after discharge but has vomited at least once if nit twice since Friday. Today he vomited twice and he's only managed some soup few bits of bread cereal and approx 15ozs half milk half ORS. I'm worried about his fluid intake is this adequate don't want to end up on IV again. He's had 3 properly wet vapours today and one dirty since 8 couple others were just damp? This bug seems to be hanging round for ages with him other DS got it but afte 4 days was well again ?? Thanks for any opinions x

I think a tummy bug can affect their stomachs for quite a while - both my DSs have just had it (4 yo and 10 months) and both were sick over several days, rather than the 6 hours or so of vomiting that I had. However, I would check with my GP if I were you as that does seem like a long time to still be sick.

Thanks for the answer campervan it's really awful when they have tummy bugs isn't it? Took him to the doc again mon but he stopped being sick Sunday lunch and seems to be in the mend fingers crossed, just trying to get his appetite back now which was great before but to be honest this bug was so harsh it's taken me a week to get back to anything like normal

Glad he is better. My DS2 was off his food for a few days too.
