periods during breast feeding

This is DC4, so I really ought to know what happens, but seems different this time

DD was exclusively breastfed until 23 weeks at which point she took to solids quickly. I'm currently feeding her when she wakes, late morning, mid afternoon and bedtime (and occasionally on demand inbetween these times). She sleeps from 8pm to 6am, so no night feeds.

Period returned when dd was 7 months but 6 weeks later, I've not had another one! Is it normal for them not to be regular when they first come back?

(Oh, and I'm not pregnant - did test this morn in my panic!)

It is in my experience - I had one at 6 weeks, one at 7 months, and then at 3-6 week intervals since. I reckon it takes a while for your body to adjust again after such a long break.

Oh that's good to know, thanks :) Neg pregnancy test helped but was starting to get worried!

I had one a couple of months ago. (DD is 8 mths) and I've been wondering the same. Just on my second period now.

I'm going camping in a couple of weeks - I bet it will choose to arrive that week!
