Help my medela swing which is only 6 weeks old had chosen now to malfunction, mid express, when I have a wedding tomorrow and need milk for my ds aswell as needing to express at the wedding so my boobs don't explode quickley ...
I was just into the longer phase of pumping, so about 2 mins in when it started gurgling and sending some milk up the pumping tube...
It's sort of working, but not as much pressure, is v noisy and there is now milk in tube, how the he'll do I clean that??
I bought it from boots but know if I take it back they won't just swap it cos of hygiene and will prob want me to refer to manufacturer which I don't have time to do cos I need it!!
What do I do.. There is no way I can manually or hand express the 12 Oz I need in the next 24 hrs :-(

I didn't want to read and run.

I would take it back and demand a new one as it's only 6 weeks old.

Have a great day tomorrow.

I took mine back to boots after 6 months use when it stopped working, they replaced it without a quibble. Didn't even look in the box, just took my word for it.

They replaced mine no problem as well, just make sure you give them your advantage card when you exchange as I wasn't asked for mine then next time I bought something at Boots it took £90 worth of points off me!

Mine did this occasionally. Before taking it back, rinse the tubing through in very hot water, then dry it as much as you can, we used to blow through the tube to get out the water drops.

Also, open the back of the swing, there is a sponge in there that may have so dampness/milk on it as well. Dry that thoroughly, and leave it all open somewhere warm for an hour or so.

Put it all back together and it should be fine.

Check that the little white flappy bit is properly attached and not torn at all, and that the tube is well inserted at both ends. Both these things can make you lose suction.

Good luck, hope it works! I've been exclusively pumping for my LO for nearly 20 weeks now with my swing. It sometimes does this but I promise it's fixable!
