I seem to be having a glass most nights and am bf dd. Just need a small one at end if a long day. Does it get in breastmilk? Not talking a bottle of vodka here, just a glass of wine.

It's fine. Alcohol does get into bm but in very small quantities.

I have the odd drink and my local breastfeeding advisor says you can have two units a day. About 175 ml of normal strength wine

Thanks all. Sure it's better than the alternative. Gave up the silk cuts but boy I miss them sometimes. Blush

I think the official advice is one or two units once or twice a week.

I personally take this to mean an inch of red wine every night :o

The official recommendations are very conservative. Alcohol leaves BM at the same rate as it does the blood and does not 'stay in the milk'

I too have a small glass every other evening or so...by which I mean really small - an inch or so. I think it's absolutely fine particularly for helping you to relax which can only assist with feeding.
