i read that its actually pregnancy that alters size shape fullness of boobs afterwards and not the actual bfeeding.ia this true? My boobs didnt grow a lot duriong pg but blew up as soon as the milk came in and now they look odd on my small frame...top heavy.i know some of us would love to have bigger boobs but i really hope they go back to original size 34B cos i liked em!
Do they ever go back to as before?
Im 4minths into BF.

Mine didn't. I went from 32DD to 34G, to 32G.
Now I am BF again and I went up to 34H then to 32H.
I don't hold out much hope for my old boobs!

Sadly no, not for me. 3 dc, breasts now smaller and much sadder than before (weeps).

Mine did. Altho they were never very big, the biggest i went up to was one cup size....oh those heady c cup days!!!!

Make sure you wear a good well fitting bra, mine returned to their normal size & shape about a yearish after I stopped breastfeeding, at first they went all empty and barely there & weird but they regained their normal state right about the time I gave up hope of having them back!

nope, i was only 18 when i bf ds1 and unfortunately stretchmarks, sagging and loss of volume were end results..
since then i've read that actually the most damage is done during pregnancy as breasts enlarge rapidly. so i always warn friends to wear support bras 24hrs, i did this with 2nd and 3rd babies. and also wore very good supportive maternity bras through bf period and boobs don't seem to have got any worse even though i'm nearly 20 years older

I've also read many times on here that it is pregnancy and not breastfeeding that causes the change in shape.

All I can tell you is that I've got one side which for some reason is much more painful to feed from than the other, so I've been feeding more from the other side. And I now have one breast which is, er, longer than the other. Pregnancy didn't do that.

Here's the study if anyone fancies a read.

Mine went back to normal pretty much when DD1 was about 9 months old (still BF). Then when I got pregnant with DD2 they seemed to droop a bit :(

your boobs would have taken on that shape regardless of if you BF - it's the milk coming in that does it, and even if you FFd and stuffed cabbage leaves down your top, the milk would still come in.
the milk wouldn't come in if you hadn't grown a baby inside you and gave birth to it, so you can blame it on the pregnancy.

they don't go back to how they were before, but they do get smaller again if that's what you mean

I recommend pilates, specifically the Plank for rebuilding the muscle to prevent droopy boobs. I am usually a D cup and in my 40s and have BF 2 DC for over a year each and I can almost pass the pencil test - well I could before I got pregnant with number 3! I will let you know if I ever get my figure back this time but the size of my behind is more of a concern at the moment lol.
