Is it possible to dream feed with breast rather than bottle?

...and if so, any tips? Dd is 12 weeks and won't take a bottle, so I was wondering about trying a breast dream feed. She currently sleeps from 7.30pm till about 2 or 3, then wakes again around 5 and finally around 7.30am, but I could do with a longer stretch of sleep. Has anyone had success with breast dream feeds??

we kind of dream fed with breastfeeding
I didn't wait for them to wake before giving the last feed before I went to bed, so I would feed at 7.30-8 ish then go in at 11 (they both loved being swaddled) picked up the little bundle of baby and very gently coax my nip into his mouth, instinctively they started suckling without waking alot, didn't change them didn't wind them just gently lifted back into the cot.
didn't always buy us more sleep but it alwasy made that last feed very qquick and peaceful.

FWIW it sounds like you could do with getting to bed for that early stretch, it is a great length of time for a baby to be sleeping.

Sleep will come, sounds like you are doing really well, in a totally non patronising way Well Done!! the first 12 weeks are no doubt the hardest, it really does get easier from here on. Smile

I used to dream feed DS from about 12 weeks at about 10pm and he would stay asleep until the morning. I would just lift him out of the cot and stick him near a nipple and he would suck happily away :)

didn't work with DD though - she would wake up and also was windier and would wake the same amount of times in the night anyway so I stopped doing it.

I dream fed both DC exactly as ByThePowerOfGreyskull described. Lovely.

I dream fed DD from about 12 weeks, she would go down at 7pm and would wake around 3am and then 7am, with a dream feed at 11pm (when I went to bed) she went through until about 5am. Most mornings I would pop her back into her cot at 5am and she would happily go through to 9am (I used 7-9 to get all the chores done).
I would simply get my boob out before I picked her out of the cot, she would latch on straight away, fall off when she had had her fill and i simply pooed her back in the cot, no nappy change. I was quite lucky with the winding as DD was not a windy baby and sometimes simply picking her up would make her burp.
Give it a go.

I've done it with all mine - as a way of getting a good stretch of sleep. Am currently sat with ds4 (8 months) who has just finished his feed and will hopefully manage to around 7am tomorrow. I love this feed when they hardly wakeup and are really snuggly.
I would give it a go.

Yes, pick up baby in sleeping bag from cot/crib and lie them beside you in bed. I'd generally latch them on as soon as i picked them up. feed lying down in bed.
