We are a British family living in the San Francisco Bay Area and may be moving back to the UK in a few months time. Our daughters are almost 15 & 13 years old. We ideally would like to live very close to the coast and put the girls in a private school as day pupils. Does anyone have any great ideas for us? We are rather stuck!

After years spent in America, I have come to realise the coast is so close in Britain. Even when you live in the middle of the island.

The Essex coast is the warmest (or should I say ' the least cold'!) and there are some brilliant private schools in Essex too. Good place to live if you can live with the 'Essex' tag!
