Looking for blogs to follow: beauty, organisation, working mum stuff

I have a blog minimumthebare.wordpress.com/ and am trying to build my readership and connect more with other people who blog on the same kind of things that I do, so would love some recommendations, please!

My blog started last year when I was preparing to go back to work after maternity leave, and covers stuff that interests me-beauty recommendations and tips, keeping organised and on top of things and balancing work and home life. Any recommendations would be great, and I can follow anyone else blogging on Wordpress (not sure how to do that for people on blogspot!)

Thanks

Hi there - well done for having the discipline to start a blog. I know very little but here are my thoughts. I have a friend who started a blog earlier this year, also after maternity leave. Check it out it is called Hungry Aphrodite. It covers food, beauty, products, kids etc. I also love Zenhabits, great posts about life, kids, reducing clutter. In beginning you need to focus on quality of posts and consistency of posts. My friend uses twitter to up her readership. Also, how about an automated email going to all your friends / school mums etc. when you have a new post. You maybe doing all this already - but I hope I have helped some. Good luck.

I don't follow any specific 'beauty' or 'employment' blogs but I'd love to throw in a recommendation for a hilarious parenting blog that I started following, very recently: Awesome Parenting Is Not What I Do. ;)

My own blog is about knitting and crochet but that doesn't mean I don't want to read about anything else! I wouldn't focus solely on finding similar blogs, to your own, unless you're mostly looking for link exchanges/guest blogging opportunities. x

I've only just started but I'm intending to blog about style/clothes/beauty/house and garden stuff. A tall order for someone with just one post so far but bear with me Grin

Thanks so much for the links, I'll have a look this evening :) fcknits, I must admit I have two left hands so will probably never be a knitter, but wish I was bit more talented with that stuff! I am still relatively new to blogging, so while I'm open to reading blogs on all kinds of subjects, I did wonder who else might be doing a blog along my lines, just to start 'meeting' other like minded people.

lol I wasn't suggesting that yarn is right up your street, minimumthebare. It was more to show that my blog is about yarn and I'm avidly following a parenting blog. Plus, that parenting blog is well worth reading! ;)

You said you were trying to build your readership - it's not all going to come from people blogging about the same thing as you. However, that is different from finding similar blog buddies - I'd recommend some for you, if I could. x

Your blog sounds like it'll come in handy for once my little one arrives so will certainly find it on wordpress to follow.

I started my blog when I went on leave at 4 months pregnant and our little one is due very soon! Mine's also a lifestyle blog so I incorporate my personal pregnancy experience with things that I like/enjoy.

Please take a look and let me know what you think :)

I just started one too, it's a sort of wish list about things that are difficult when you have a baby, with sketches. Http://jelly juggling.wordpress.com
