How do you cope with gluts of seasonal food? Much of Grandma Abson’s baking depended on using fresh produce, often grown in the garden, so her recipes make good use of gluts of fruit and vegetable in season. Grandma has lots of examples of jams, jellies, chutneys, pickles and puddings in Grandma Abson's Traditional Baking book. We can freeze most fruits and you can make sauces, cakes and desserts with any of the fruits in abundance in the markets with our amazing summer weather – cherries, raspberries, gooseberries with more to come in the autumn.
