Hello - this has been sent out to folks on our panel who are in London and have the right age children but we are aware there may be others of you not yet on our panel who would be interested Smile.

We've been asked by Sainsbury's (who is the first ever Paralympic Games sponsor this summer) to find 5 MN bloggers to attend a unique event in London (City/ Old Street area) with their children on Monday 20th August.

Sainsbury's is organising a Blind Football training session with Gary Knight - the FA's Blind Football coach who works with the Paralympics GB football squad and the England Blind Football team. The session follows on from Sainsbury's Million Kids Challenge where schools, clubs and organisations across the UK were sent Paralympic Sports Kits, encouraging 2.4 million children to try Paralympic sport ahead of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Please note this is an invitation only event.

For more information on Sainsbury's sponsorship and on blind football (from David Beckham) see: www.sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/occasions/paralympics/#4300 and paralympics.channel4.com/sainsburys/blindfootball/

They'd like some MN bloggers to attend this event with their children (ideally aged between 7-8 to 11-13(ish!) - boys and girls all welcome). Maximum of 2 playing children per blogger. You'd need to make your own way to the location and the event will run between 1.50pm and 3.50pm.

It will be a 2 hour afternoon session and will comprise of:

~ Training - the children will be taught by FA Coaches Gary and Jon Whittingham, the skills required to play Blind Football 5 a-side and will then have a go at playing it blinded-folded. They will be fully supervised by Gary and Jon who have years of experience teaching children and adults Blind Football skills

~ This session will culminate in a penalty shootout where the children will have a chance to win an Active Kids T-Shirt signed by Sainsbury's Paralympic Games and Active Kids ambassador David Beckham

~ Each child will take away a goody bag full of Sainsbury's Active Kids merchandise.

~ You and your child(ren) will also be introduced to and get a chance to play Sainsbury's new, world first, Blind Football computer game.

~ Drinks & snacks will be provided for bloggers and the children.

If you are selected to attend we'd like you to tweet (and mention on other social media) about the event and Sainsbury's Active Kids programme before, during and after the event and also to write up on your blog about the event. MN will then feature your blog in the MN widget which sits on approx. 200 blogs across our network. We will also re tweet your tweets. We'd also like you to take photos at the event and tweet these and feature them on your blog. - but Sainsbury's will also provide a photographer on the day. You will need to have the widget on your blog and to be on our research panel.

If you'd like to be considered for this please add your details here. Please apply by Monday 13th August 8am LATEST

Any questions please ask

If you're unable to attend this event but would like to join the panel please sign up -here-

Also it would be really fab if you apply for the event but are not yet on the panel if you could also add your details so we can advise you of further opportunities in case you're not selected.

thanks
MNHQ
