Advice needed on using Facebook (anonymously)

Hi,

Although I don't really know what I'm doing, I've linked my blog to a Facebook page I set up. Because I blog anonymously, I had to set up an account with a false name and from there I set up a page.

My problem is that it is difficult to see how I can get followers, likes and friends when no one knows me! I realise that being anonymous sort of flies in the face of what FB is all about, and I've already had my hand slapped by them for trying to 'pick up' friends!

I've made a link on my blog to the FB site and emailed some subscribers. Any other tips on how I can generate some interest? The page is here:

Thanks!

Have you used Twitter?

Why do you need the facebook page? I agree that Twitter may be more what you are looking for.

I agree - you want Twitter.

Why would anyone friend you on Facebook if they don't know who you are?

Thanks everyone. My posts do go to Twitter automatically but I must admit that's where my use of the site ends. I will look into this more. Thanks.

Twitter is much more geared up for conversations with strangers - you can follow people without them following you back, you can talk to anyone you like (although they may not talk back).

Hello, you have some good advice about Twitter above, but I do have a Facebook page for my blog - also under my writing pseudonym. It's a fan page, so people 'like' rather than friend me - I just have a link to it on the sidebar of my blog, and occasionally mention it at the end of posts. As you get more blog followers, more people will follow you on FB - or so I've found. It won't be immediate though.

Twitter is better for getting hits fr your blog, but you do have to put a bit of time in, communicating with others, not jut posting a link.

Setting up a FB page means that others can "like" you but even then you will have to do a bit of networking
