Well its too posh for where I live! Toby & Dominic are nice though.

TutterJane Mon 09-Jul-07 12:41:34

of those i'd go for toby. i had considered it for ds2 but a close friend has a toby

NoNickname Mon 09-Jul-07 12:42:21

Love Toby, but think it is becoming quite popular at the moment - I hear it all the time.

Dominic is fab - wanted it for ds, but it doesn't go with our surname.

And Hugo isn't too posh.

If you like the more "posh" names, there's also:

Sebastian
Rupert
Miles
Benedict
Felix

cece Mon 09-Jul-07 13:04:59

Hugo very nice

Toby - OK and there are a lot of them around

nailpolish Mon 09-Jul-07 13:06:50

Toby is slang for penis in some places. perfect for bullies
i dont think Hugo is too posh, i like it
Dominic is lovely too

nailpolish Mon 09-Jul-07 13:07:21

my fave boys name is Dimitri

funnypeculiar Mon 09-Jul-07 13:08:12

I like Toby (but hate Tobes, which it gets shortened to) & Dominic (Dom's OK)- Hugo less so...

collisionfrances Mon 09-Jul-07 13:08:58

Are you greek NP???!

Harry, Evie and Dimitri!!! I use those names as being popular these days!

It is rather random!

MamaG Mon 09-Jul-07 13:09:19

I like toby and Dominic, also love Sebastian and LAwrence

nailpolish Mon 09-Jul-07 13:09:42

what are you on about collision

Tinker Mon 09-Jul-07 13:09:48

Depends where you live. Hugo way too posh round here.

Toby is a bit of a little boy's name, not really a man's name.

Love Dominic

ernest Mon 09-Jul-07 13:10:04

I like Aidan, Dominic and Peter. Oh and Simon

nailpolish Mon 09-Jul-07 13:10:33

Hugo - i fyou are worried its too posh, you could go for Hugh?

Anna8888 Mon 09-Jul-07 13:51:42

My sister's son is called Hugo - chosen largely because it works in both English and French, and his father is French.

Not especially posh IMO - much less so than Toby or Dominic.

Anna8888 Mon 09-Jul-07 13:52:34

nailpolish - Dimitri gets shortened to Dim...

nailpolish Mon 09-Jul-07 13:53:41

ill probably never have a boy so wont owrry over that dilemma

Actually really wanted Sebastian(fave boys name) but two friends have called there sons this in past 6 months so dont think i can do it!

There are a few Toby's around here already.

Toby is slang for penis - thats worth knowing!!

Problem with Dominic is that Dom really doesnt go with our surname

DD is edie which was always my fave girls mane

Just that Dimitri is a rather random name, that was all NP!

And that if you have children named Harry and Evie and then had a Dimitri, it sounded a bit odd.

But if you were Greek then Dimitri is a fab name.

Bainmarie Mon 09-Jul-07 22:35:48

Dominic is a lovely name. Toby is nice too.

NP - Oh, my favourite boys name is Dimitri too!
