Baby Roscoe Hayward was born 2nd August, 19 days early by emergency c section, weighing 8lb3.
I went to hospital on the Saturday afternoon after having had 3 days contractions that were going nowhere, but I also had the shakes and was feeling a little faint. Was thoroughly checked over and told I was a long way from labour but to come in on Monday for a growth scan as I was measuring 44 weeks (I am 37).
(sorry about typing etc am sending this from hospital on my phone!)
anyway I got home, cooked dinner and sat down when I felt a 'pop'.
Waters had gone but also started bleeding a lot.
Called mum to look after DS so we could go to hospital, she arrived about 2 hours later and on the way to thehospital I started bleeding heavily again.
Went on ctg overnight and had 3 internals, still contracting. After hours of this I was still only 1 cm dilated, baby not engaged, i was still bleeding heavily, and baby's heart rate was dropping, he became distressed so they decided to operate immediately.
Turns out my placenta had separated from the uterus and had been breaking up inside me.
Roscoe has ingested a lot of this and is having some trouble but is getting better.
My wound is teeny... Well done surgeons.
And thanks to everyone at QCCH for stepping up when needed and turning a potentially fatal situation into a calm and positive one. I feel so happy thanks to them all.
All is well here, happy mum and a beautiful little boy.
Oh, and DH bought me a cracking pair of earrings ;)
